order是什么意思（so that，in order that，in order to）

对于so that, in order that ,in order to,so as to,so..... that和such.... that，你是不是一脸懵，那你应该看看这个！

表示目的的连词有很多，有so, so that, in order that ,in order to,so as to等等，那么它们各自的用途与它们之间的区别是什么呢?

so that“以至于，以便”

1. 表目的。是“以至于，以便”的意思

它和so ....that不一样, (省略出是个形容词) 在非正式语体中, so可以代替so that引出目的状语从句。

例如:

Telephone him at once so（ that） he may not worry about us.

请马上给他打个电话，以便让他不担心我们。

2. 它还可以表示结果,引导结果状语从句,一般用逗号与主句隔开。

All photos I have no reservations,

so that you understand it?

所有的照片我都没有保留，这样说你明白了吗？

3. so that后面跟的是一个长句子,引导目的状语从句,此时意义上等同于in order that ,但是in order that可以放在句首,而so that则不能放在句首。

例如:

In order that everyone present might hear her clearly, she raised her voice again.

为了使在场的每个人都能听清楚，她再次提高了声音。

in order that “为了，以便”

1. 用于虚拟语气中, 在正式语体中, in order that引导的状语从句有时也采用现在时虚拟语气。

例句：

They removed the prisoner in order that he not disturb the procceedings any further .

他们把犯人移走，以便他不再扰乱..队伍。

上句中的he not disturb也可以用he should not disturb 来替换。

2. in order that 与情态动词连用

在in order that从句中可以使用can,could,may,

might,should,would等情态动词。

例句：

We do not read history simply for pleasure,

but in order that we may discover the laws of political growth and change.

我们阅读历史不单纯是为了娱乐，而是为了可以从中发现政治发展和政治演变的规律。

注意：so that与in order that

in order that用于相当正式的语体中,表示经过精心策划的目的,有时可与so that互换。

so that引导目的状语从句时,表示“以便;为了”,从句中常使用can /could /may /might/will /would shoul等情态动词或助动词;引导结果状语从句时,从句中一般不用can和may等词,在so that前可以用逗号,意思是“因此:所以”。

例如:

The little boy saved every coin， so that he could buy his mother a presenton Mother's day.

这个小男孩把每一枚硬币都存了下来，这样他就能在母亲节给他妈妈买一份礼物了。

in order to “为了”

in order to后面接动词原型，用来表目的,它所引导的是目的状语。in order to可以放在句首，in order to后面跟的是一个短语，而in order that 后面跟的是一个句子。

例句：

In order to do this you have to build up confidence.

为了做到这一点，你一定要建立起自信。

We all get up early in order that we might start at seven.

我们都早点起床，以便我们可以七点钟出发。

so..... that和such.... that

such....that“如此.....以致于.....”

that后面接一个表示结果的状语从句

so ..that “如此.....以至于.....”,引导结果状语从句,与such..... that意思相同,但用法不同。

so....that这一结构中, so后边可加形容词或副词, 而such后边要用名词(这个名词前面可以带形容词,也可以不带)。

例如:

She is so clever a girl that all of us like her.

她是如此可爱的一个女孩以至于我们都喜欢她。

The task was so easy that I got it over within one hour.

这个任务是如此的容易，以至于我一小时之内就完成了。

such.....that的句型结构可分以下三种:

1.such+a(an) +adj.+单数可数名词+ that从句

例句：

He is such an honest boy that everybody likes him.他非常诚实,所以大家都非常喜欢他。

She is such a lively girl that we all like her.

她是个如此活泼的女孩以至于我们都喜欢她。

2.such +adj.+复数可数名词+that从句

例句：

They are such interesting novels that I want to read them once.

这些小说非常有趣,我想再读一遍。

3. such+adj.+不可数名词+ that从句

例句：

He has made such great progress that the teachers are pleased with him。

他进步得很快,老师们对他感到很满意。

注意:

如果such后边的名词前由many, much, few, little等词所修饰的话,则不用such而用so。

例如:

He had so many falls that he was black and blue all over.

他摔了很多跤,以致于全身上下青一块紫一块的。

He had so little education that he was unfit for this job.

他所受教育很少,不适合做这个工作。

so as to “以便于”

它和in order to的意思是一样的,没有什么具体的区别，在位置上, so as to不能位于句首，而in order to则可以放在句首，后面跟的都是一个短语。

注意:

1,如果是表示否定目的,则要在“to”前加否定词not,即要用"so as not to的形式。

例如:

He left his gun outside so as not to frighten his wife.

他把枪留在外面以便不使他的妻子受到惊吓。

2. in order to是so as to的同义词组,两者一般可互换使用。但是,当特别强调目的,且把目的状语放在句首时,只用in order to。

例如:

In order to get more money they can do anything.

为了得到更多的钱，他们可以做任何事情。
